Art Has the Stage
Most of us encounter art every single day: at schools, in hospitals, at work, in public spaces or at museums. But rarely do we stop and discuss it. Perhaps we aren’t even aware of what our encounters with art really mean to us. Sometimes we take them for granted. Or we avoid the conversation because we don’t think it is relevant to us individually. But everyone can talk art — and if we do we might just discover that it means more to us than we realise.
We at the Bikuben Foundation want to make art something we discuss more often so that we become more aware of its significance. Discussions about the role of art in our society and for the individual force us to engage in a conversation about its significance. By creating the Art Has the Stage (Kunsten har ordet) series and letting art speak for itself, we hope we can encourage more people to take part in the conversation about its significance and the value of being exposed to it.
